Did you know that 1 in 4 people who watch an auto video will visit a dealership? A very powerful statistic provided by Google, and one that is hard to overlook from a lending perspective. Video marketing is a conversion tool everyone should be deploying as part of their promotion and marketing strategy. In a multi-screen world, reaching the end user has become increasingly challenging. With video marketing, messages are received on-the-go in the palm of the hand, in the comfort of the home and anywhere a signal exists to deliver it. Video allows credit unions the ability to leverage their brand to both educate and promote.
I've written an article for CU Insight entitled, Video Marketing as a Key Component of Your Communications Strategy, making a very powerful argument on its use as a marketing tool for credit unions. According to HubSpot when it comes to user interaction, 90% of users say that product videos are helpful in the decision process. It’s a commanding tool indeed, and one that GrooveCar has been utilizing as part of the marketing collateral offerings to credit unions, since early 2015. Credit unions on the program have seen member engagement increase when marketing is combined with customized video messaging. Another powerful statistic, when used in conjunction with email marketing, a video attachment will increase open rates by 20% or more.
GrooveCar videos have also been repurposed as television spots by several of our credit unions, used as in-branch displays, social media posts and wherever a message needs a little pop. The use of videos to spread the message is limitless and effective in a world where getting attention can be at a premium.
Another reason to jump on the train, Millennials. This is a generation that grew up with video on the iPhone, tablet and are digital natives. Eric points out, “The millennial is quickly shifting away from traditional TV at a very fast rate preferring instead to obtain information from digital video offerings.
